Welcome to our Online Registration! 

 We are proud to announce our 2012 Spring Summer Program has been mailed to all homes, businesses, and PO Boxes in Acton and Boxborough. 

Programs offered, run from mid-March through mid-September and are open to both Acton residents and non-residents.

  • All Community Garden plots are full for the 2012 season. 
  • NARA Park Beach:  Due to software issues, we are unable to conduct online registration for beach membership.  We accept mail-in and in-person registration.

REFUND & WITHDRAWAL POLICY

  • Refunds will not be issued after a program’s specified timeframe; specified timeframe are listed below for each category.  All refund and withdrawal requests for all offerings must be submitted in writing.  Requests cannot be accepted by phone.  Remit to:  Acton Recreation Department, 472 Main Street, Acton, MA  01720 or email:  recreation@acton-ma.gov.  If request is submitted via email, requester should call the office to confirm receipt of email at 978.929.6640  ext. 0.  Please allow 2-3 weeks for refunds for payments by check. Online refunds will be issued within one week. If payment was made by walk-in credit card payment, registrant must present card in person for refund.
  • GENERAL RECREATION PROGRAMS: You may withdraw from a program up to 7 business days prior to the start date. A $10 non-refundable administrative fee will be applied to each program.
  • SUMMER CAMP: You may withdraw up to 10 business days prior to the start of each session. A $50 non-refundable fee will be applied for each session. Exception to policy; a written letter from a licensed physician excusing participant from a program prior to the 1st day of session start date. Refunds will not be issued due to weather conditions or any water closure. Switching session fee: A fee of $15 per session fee is applied per person pending availability of session openings.
  • BEACH MEMBERSHIP: Refunds will not be issued for beach memberships due to participant cancellation, water closure due to weather or Board of Health water standards or closure by lifeguards due to patron-lifeguard ratio.  The Town of Acton has the right to revoke a beach membership for non-compliance to beach rules and regulations.
  • Certain programs and bus trips have separate refund policies and will be duly noted in description and/or on form. Show tickets are non-refundable but are transferable.
  • We take great pride in the respect that all of our program participants have exhibited over the years.  For the enjoyment and safety of all participants and staff, inappropriate behavior will not be permitted.  Our program has a zero tolerance policy.  Grounds for dismissal from any offerings include: disrespect for others or property, foul language, fighting, bullying, sexual harassment, spitting and biting.  Refunds will not be given to a participant who has been dismissed from a program due to behavioral issues.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

Recreation classes are cancelled if Acton and Acton-Boxborough Schools have closed or have early dismissal due to weather. Notification via e-mail for Recreation Dept. run programs will be made if class is cancelled due to poor weather, poor field conditions or lack of minimum participants. Programs run by companies contracted by the Recreation Dept. are responsible to notify participants of class cancellations.  Efforts will be made to makeup weather-cancelled classes, but are not guaranteed. Any class cancellations due to an illness of an instructor will be made-up or refunded. Refunds will not be issued due to a participant’s inability to partake in makeup session(s). Some programs or classes have special cancellation policies and are duly noted in program description and/or special registration form.

 

Proxy Registrations, Program Confirmation & Disclaimer

A person may submit another’s registration form, provided the form is properly completed and signed. 

The Recreation Department reserves the right to correct mistakes or adjust program fees and activities in this brochure at the time of release by print or internet, and reserves the right to cancel any program due to low enrollment or poor weather.
